Short Term Rentals and Online Agencies

Short Term Rentals and Online Agencies

Come and hear the state of the STR Industry in Newport Beach today, the latest proposals and what changes in policy the City is considering.

While short term rentals (STRs) have historically been part of Newport Beach, a new phenomenon of online rental agencies such as airbnb & VRBO has emerged, changing the STR landscape in Newport Beach. Some property owners favor them for the extra income, while others are concerned about impacts to their neighborhoods. Cities are struggling with this issue and have gone from allowing them in all residential areas to an outright ban, or other solutions in between.

Come and hear from representatives of the STR industry about their operations as well as the City’s perspective. Speakers will include Kimberly Brandt, Community Development Director, along with representatives from a Newport Beach STR firm and airbnb.

This an opportunity to hear the latest about what is going on and ask questions of those most involved in the regulation and promotion of short term rentals.
