Harbor Rates. Too High or Too Low?

HARBOR RATES. TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW?

THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH IS CURRENTLY EVALUATING RATES CHARGED FOR USE OF PUBLIC TIDELANDS

The State Lands Commission recently issued a report challenging the rates the city charges. They have asked that the city evaluate fair market value rates for moorings, residential docks, yacht clubs, and live-aboards. They have recommended the mooring transfer program be discontinued.

Some mooring holders in Newport Beach have been complaining that the rates and transfer procedures enacted by the City Council for harbor moorings are unfair.

The city has hired appraisers to determine Fair Market Value and the Harbor Commission is currently assessing those to make a recommendation to City Council.

Come hear City Deputy Harbormaster Matt Cosylion update on the current status of the Harbor Commission’s efforts and the path moving forward.

SPEAKER

MATT COSYLION
